As the country slowly emerges from national lockdown and many of us who were able to work from home return to the workplace, we find ourselves finally having to trade in our comfortable clothing for smarter attire. For some of us, returning to work is a welcome opportunity to be creative with much-loved pieces that have gone unworn during lockdown. Spending time indoors in leisurewear has made us realise the importance of fashion to our mood and self-esteem, both as a creative outlet of self-expression, and as a source of inspiration and play. However, for many people, this return to the workwear wardrobe is filled with reluctance. Working from home offered the freedom to choose what to wear, allowing for more casual options that placed comfort above the need to look smart.
However, going back to work need not mean going back to generic suits or bland dresses. With a creative eye and clever choices, dressing smart need not feel restricting or devoid of personality.
