This Autumn Studio Rundholz reminds us of their creative legacy as they present collections stripped back to their design basics. Fine fabrics and structured silhouettes stage the craftsmanship of their construction as Rundholz opposes fast fashion with timeless garments made to outlive their season.
Founded in 1993 by creative couple Carsten and Lenka Rundholz, A/W19 sees the brand return to these roots in its Mainline, DIP and Black Label collections as they revisit the avant-garde classics which made their name.
The layered knits and nets of Black Label lend a feminine softness to harsh silhouettes, with the playful hand-drawn print of the season an iconic detail of the brand. DIP’s exaggerated military shapes are given a contemporary twist by the use of a deep red Karmin dye. Mainline brings couture-level creativity and craft from the catwalk to the wardrobe in its beautifully tailored jackets and soft cashmere pieces.
This season’s tour through the brand’s history retells Rundholz’s design story; the desire to create wearable avant-garde garments, skilfully crafted with care and attention, that remain at the cutting-edge of fashion year after year.
