What to wear as a Wedding Guest

There's no denying the fact that COVID has completely turned the wedding industry on its head. However, now things are going back to normal, we have an excuse to finally dress up, especially now that wedding season is just around the corner. Although each wedding is different from the next, there are definitely some unwritten do's and don't's when it comes to how you dress as a guest.

Jumpsuit

If dresses aren’t your forte, jumpsuits are the perfect option. Go subtle with minimal accessories or make a statement with bold jewellery! Add feminine touches with beautiful tones, prints and silhouettes. Let the jumpsuit do the talking and wear with a pair of heels and a clutch bag!

Do not wear a white dress!

It's an unwritten rule that people who attend a wedding shouldn't wear white, or cream or off white. Even a pale blue might sometimes pass as a copy. If you're into lighter toned items, pastels are the best way (while not causing a stir).

Think soft greys, sage greens and pretty in pink, and you're definitely on to a winner.

White dresses are cute! But just try not to in this instance. This is the only thing the bride cares about dress-code wise—she’s most likely wearing white.

Avoid Denim! Go for Tailored Trousers

Jeans are typically too casual for a momentous occasion like this. Denim is definitely not a look for weddings, so why not substitute the blues to tailored trousers for a sophisticated chic look?

Always use a small bag for your essentials

The last thing you want is stress during a loved ones' big day! Large tote bags and cumbersome shoulder bags don't really say "special occasion." Go minimal for the occasion and only think about your key things that you need for the day.

If you're wanting a bag for an accessory, stick to neutral tones. If you want the bag to be the main eye-catching feature of your whole look, focus on prints and tones that will highlight your outfit.
